Michael Turner is a young spirited chef who has been in the midst of culinary greats. He fashions his cuisines after the motto of "Just make it taste GOOD!" Michael's inspiration to cook comes from watching the men folk in his family take over the kitchen and create delicious meals. For him, the best reward is to see someone genuinely enjoy his meals. Naturally, he decided to pursue a career in culinary arts; he received his Associates degree from The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.
Michael immediately immersed himself in the field. He has been employed with Disney World Resorts, Michael Mina restaurants, Saltwater and Bourbon Steak at MGM Grand Casino in Detroit. At Saltwater and Bourbon Steak, Michael trained under culinary talents such as Chef Don Yamauchi, as well as with two other talented chefs Mark St. Jacques and Benjamin Meyer. Michael's appreciation for the many great culinary techniques he learned highly influenced his decision to come to Chen Chow Brasserie and continue training with Chef Meyer.
While at Chen Chow, Michael earned the title of Sous Chef. He plans to continue his quest for more knowledge and growth, and to continue to thrive in the unpredictably exciting atmosphere of the restaurant business. The most important aspects that he brings to Chen Chow are his enthusiasm and lifelong love for cooking and making food "taste good." |
